First of all let me just say I'm ecstatic that I was nominated. It means a lot, whether I win or lose, it’s nice to be recognized! Good luck to the other nominees. I got my 1995 GT back in September 2012 for my first car. 53k on the clock, auto, bone stock. I've never driven stick before, nor have I owned a stick car. So I was dying to learn, I did a 5 speed conversion on mine. Taught myself how to drive it, never going back to auto! I've transformed it into something I would've never dreamed of.

The car was totaled in a front end collision in 2001. After being bought back from the insurance company it was sold to a middle age man who wanted to make it a project. After replacing the fenders, hood, bumper, radiator support and windshield he promptly ran out of funds and left it at the shop it was being worked on. After a few months the shop took over ownership and so it sat in a yard for the next 10 years until September of 2011 when I picked up the project where the PO left off. Almost 2.5 years later the car now runs and has every missing and broken piece replaced. The car is finally road worthy and ready to be registered.

Thank you for the nominations. The car was purchased in Feb 2007 as a father-son project, guess that made me 12 years old at the time. The car was in pretty rough shape at the time of purchase and had just been used as a donor car for a GT that hit a deer. Basically all the car had going for it was a fairly straight body. All the work done to the car has been done by my father and I in a standard two car garage, including the paint.
