If youre worried about the tstat run thr mishimoto race one that opens at like 162 or something. Ive never had a issue with my car overheating and ive ran some hot ass days
if you read the post he dosent have a thermostat its gutted he says

why would you run without a thermostat
makes no sense

Most racers don't run tsats.
He's running a restrictor which slows the water return down raising the pressure resulting in higher boiling point.

is that the type that is in the top radiator hose
It sits in the water neck housing. I think your talking about the heater core restrictor.

i remember installing a internal thermostat in a radiator hose on a few cat forklifts
