Any recommendations on Spirt seats? Not full race seats because I want them to be comfy enough for 2-3 hour rides, but I slide around in the stock seats in the S’s.

I would tell you to not go cheap. It doesn't need to be a racing seat is much more important for safety than people realize. With that being said I love my corbeau GT2's but if you are not a skinny sob get the wider version as they are tight.

Don't go ebay or amazon. The likelihood of you getting something from China is very high in those circumstances, and the seat will break very quickly after install.

I love my Corbeau LG1 seats. Super comfy.
I had Corbeau A4 seats for about a week and hated them. I'm 6' and only 190 lbs, and the A4s were still too narrow for me.

your next question will probably be about brackets. The stock brackets can be removed from the seats(it is about the only valuable part of the seat honestly) and often reused if you are a little crafty but I would warn you to be sure to overbuild anything you fab up as if it comes loose from that bracket your screwed.

I do know corbeau makes a nice hefty built bracket for their seats that could also probably be modified to fit others but I remember they were not cheap 10-15 years ago when I got mine, not sure what they go for now.

I did up some plates/rails out of some thick aluminum some years ago because the OEM seat track wasn't the same width as the new seat bottom frame and none of the holes aligned. Things slightly changed since then. I'm currently on a manual seat track for the driver which is thing gauge steel, reason being I can weld up some angle iron to preserve the factory sitting height (the aluminum setup raised the seat some millimeters which is actually quite noticeable when driving and I wasn't feeling it).

Like ttocs said, overbuild it. Not something you want coming lose for any reason.

The Corbeau brackets with the LG1 seats left me pretty much back to stock sitting height, maybe just a hair lower.

I know with my corbeau's there is just BARELY enough room under the seats for some small electronics but they do put you close to the floor and they are well built

I'm waiting to see some Sparco GT seats in person. They look like a more aggressive than stock, but still daily friendly seat, and they're not too terribly expensive either.

man if there were only a shop that had all the different seats that you could try out. I am sure at one of the summit's or something you probably could but that has never been anywhere near me. I was lucky to snap mine up when justin blew up his sn right after getting them. They are a little tight on my skinny ass though and if I had a choice I probably would have gone with the wider seats at the very least for the passenger just for their comfort. I have some very large friends that I have to wince a bit when they fall down into that seat...

I wish I had a Summit nearby. I swung by the one outside Atlanta this past summer hoping they'd have a GT on the floor to check out- because I would have happily ordered them from the store if I would fit comfortably - but no such luck. I was snug in my Corbeau Forza Wide back in the day in the 95, I don't know that I could do that again at this point lol.

Couple references to seat height changes. Is it better if the seat sets you lower? Higher? Or is it personal preference?

how tall are you? You will loose the up/down on the power seat so if you are short and need it all the way up it might be a little low. That isn't to say you couldn't get some solid aluminum blocks to raise the seat up a bit if you needed

I have a Corbeau fixed bucket with a sliding seat track. The seat can get a bit uncomfortable after a few hours and it doesn’t fit me as well as it did. My 34” waist needs a narrower seat. Weight loss problems lol

Quality is good. I’m going to switch to a Racequip full containment seat next.

Personal preference in the end, but a lower seat actually does lower the car CG as well.
