Is the tri ax adjustable, and if so how? For some reason when I shift aggresstively, it grinds into second, every other shift is fine, just the one to two shift sucks.

if the tri-ax is on a t45(aka your new 96 cobra) it's most likely the trans. not the shifter. but, the tri-ax shift stops ARE adjustable. just pop off the shifter boot trim, and you'll see the 2 bumpstops.
back them out of the shifter housing and put the car in 2nd gear. screw the stop in til it touches the shifter, then back it out 1/2 turn or so.
do the same with the one at the front of the shifter with the car in 3rd gear.
wa-la. done. a 5 minute job.

The shifter was bought used by Chris, so who knows what condition it was in. I'll check it out and adjust it tomorrow so I dont have to replace the trans in a few months. Thanks for the info on it PJ.

Tried adjusting it but it still grinds. Only does it at half throttle aggressive shifts. Doesn't do it at wot or old lady shifts. I dont get it. :ass3:

its the t45 dude.

i just finally broke mine completely today.
before it would only go into 2nd gear about 40% of the time. it was like that for 2 years.
now it is STUCK in 2nd gear.
It's out of the car and going to a rebuild shop on Monday.

Sucks that it broke, but it needed to be done for the longest time.
