What one of my friends did was measure thr strut coming down in the wheel well snd tried centering it to the best of his ability coming through the hole. He was actually pretty close on his alignment. Just try to get them centered to the best of your ability and don't over think it. Go get your alignment asap.

first piece of business to take care of after this install is a wheel alignment. I don't mean later that week, but the FIRST place the car drives to is the alignment shop. There are youtube vids that show how to do a quick/good enough DIY job to get you to the shop

Have you already removed the OEM parts? If not, this might work...

In the past, I've put a flat piece of sturdy cardboard positioned against the inner edge of the fender and over the top of the strut. I align the carboard to be right beside a fender bolt head (you can also use tape to mark where the cardboard hits the edge of the fender). I press down on the cardboard to let the top of the strut make an impression. I trace that impression with a marker. When I put the new CC plates in the car, I use the cardboard template to get the top of the strut to line up with the impression/mark. That usually gets me close enough to take the car to an alignment shop.
