I am doing a Dark Charcoal Interior swap on my 96 Cobra with the 01+ interior. I am just swapping in the steering column. From what I read, there should be zero issues with just straight swapping the column outside of the key. I was going to change the ignition cylinder but I got to thinking. I plan on running the Pro EFI ecu and I was going to have to have my PATS reset or ditched due to putting in the instrument cluster from a 98 Cobra (my odometer is not working). I also plan on an aftermarket alarm. I know this sounds stupid but I like the shorter keys of the New Edge Mustangs. Is there anything that would keep me from having my locks swapped and keyed for the new style keys? Can I remove anything associated with the PATS? If so what?

I don't think it would be that hard that a locksmith should be able to help. I too would ditch the pats and go with a good aftermarket alarm myself
