Does any one know of a new replacement stepper motor that will work in 94-97 instrument clusters. Ford made about a half million and there going bad with no replacement part. Maybe we could get the specs and have them made?

As far as I know, there is no stepper motor for the odometer.

My terminology may not be correct. I’m referring to the motor that turns the gears that turn the numbers on the trip meter and odometer.

Remove it, inspect it for etched on part numbers. It actually might not even be a Ford part.

Thanks for help. I’ve had it out now about six times, I’m nothing if not determined, and the ink on it is faded and unreadable. From what I can see ford never offered it as a replacement part, but it does unplug, so someone was thinking about replacibility. If that’s a word. If any one has a damaged cluster that wants to sell the stepper let me know.

did you ever find the part online anywhere for sale? I am only seeing plastic ones and they look totally different so doubt it would even work. I did swap one from one cluster to the car I built a few years ago and it fixed the problem. So I have 2 95's and a 94 including one that's stripped down ( wrecked) and one of the clusters have a white faced cluster from back in the day that I added to the cluster. I did not want to touch that as it's going in the 95 that I'm about to do a stroker for. So out of those 3 stepper motors only 2 are good now as I'm sure the one in the white faced cluster from the other 95 is still good. I'll plug it in one day this week and it should be fine. That will work for me now but in case I need one in the future is the reason for this post lol. If they don't sell anywhere and folks can't find at a junkyard ( in which you'd be taking a chance on if it's good), then I don't know what folks will do smh.........
