Has anybody heard of STR wheels? I've been looking for a set of CCW classic reps and these seem to be the cheapest set unless I want to step up to XXRs or Varrstoens. http://unleashedwheels.com/str-20.html
Haha yeah it's a weird phrase to use. I'm not afraid of using a replica wheel but I'd rather know something about the company making them first
Send them an email asking them to remove the fake bolts. Then offer them $300 for all 4. Then you'll have the cheapest reps on the market! On a serious note, a rep is a rep. They all suck equally. Just buy the cheapest you can find.
Really? I think they look much cleaner without them since the bolts aren't actually functional. If they were a three piece then they would look good. But for a rep, this is clean and simple.
I guess it's personal preference. Most that I've seen (just pictures on the internet) just don't do it for me. But I do agree that fake bolts are pretty stupid. Which brand is that one?
I believe those are the XXR's 531s. To my knowledge they're the only ones that make the version without bolts. What color are you looking to get?
Ah ok, I just don't like the 10 lug setup that you get with the XXRs, that's why I've been looking around. I've been looking at Silver, Polished face, and Gunmetal. Haven't decided what color I'm gonna go with yet.
I don't think it will be long before this style of wheel is as common as the bullits on our cars. I like them on new edges but I think they just have too many flat lines for all the curves the original sn's have.
i'm with Ferocious here. rivets on a wheel that the actual centers are obviously not separate from the barrel is cheesy imo.
Well I had the good luck of having a stanced Acura RSX with some STR wheels get towed into the shop I work at. After taking a look at the wheels I decided to not go with them, they had kind of a plasticy look to them and I just wasn't a fan. I went ahead and ordered some SVE Drift wheels instead and am glad I did.
Replicas are just that replicas either you buy them on the cheap and get what you pay for or you save your money and be patience to get the real deal. I do agree the 531's are the best looking replicas of the ccw classics. Kris
