I will try to post the YouTube link here because I don't know how to describe this particular noise during idle. It disappears as soon you ad a little throttle..

Sorry if it has been posted before but I couldn't find it...

If anyone has an idea..

I had a pump on my 92 fox body that made a humming noise from the day i bought it and put close to 80.000 on it when i sold the car it was still going
its just the matter of condition and ware
the only way pump is no good leaking or clanking
i have even had one that cracked in half on me on my 250 4x4 , out in the desert 4x4ing

I ordered the pump just to have it ready.

It's the rubber seal. On some old cars there was a little hole on top that you could lubricate this part.

I suppose when the seal fails it will leak but when??

RAU03MACH's foxbody apparently holdup quite well..

I have to correct myself: there is a weep hole on top of the waterpump. It's the indicator that when coolant comes out, the seal has failed. A mechanic mentioned to spray some silicon spray in that hole.

After that The noise has been gone so far for the last 80 miles.
