Ok so here it goes I have an 04 GT with 373 rear end gearing about 3 weeks ago I was getting a loud screeching noise when turning the wheel slightly to the left but only after hard driving
Sound like a wheel bearing to me changed all four bearings on the car and the noise is still there.
During the rear axel bearing change I found a chunk of metal in the left tube but I’ve inspected things over in the diff and do not see any broken pieces
I have a video of the noise but can’t seem to post it here from my phone but here is a picture of the piece I pulled out of the left tube

Car still moves and drives fine minus the noise
It is nothing that I can feel via response from the car I only hear it
Fresh gear oil and friction modifier used during rear end changes and services

If that is the shim then you need to tear that apart. If any other chunks are floating around they can cause damage.

Ok so from here what should I be doing? The most I know about servicing the rear is pinon seal and fluid changes

Rear end would have to be torn down. If that is a chunk of a shim then the that means more than likely the spacing is now out of whack. This will cause uneven wear and if the other chunks of that shim gets bound in the wrong place it could do serious damage.

A worn rear gear, the pinion bearing is rough, The diff. bearings have been loose and the mounting saddles are too shiny. Side shims are worm showing a groove, and a wimpy diff. Come get my truck diff.

At the least get the FRPP clutch pack upgrade for the diff. and rebuild it, it is 40.00. New bearings and you can get the heavy duty kit If you want. And new gears, If you reuse the old ones the wear pattern is going to change and make noise recutting a pattern and wear out fast.
I'm heading up to "church" See you there?

Not nearly as much as the difference between the stock 2:89 gears and the 3:73. If you ever boost the car you want the 3:55.

Well my red 04 will probably never see boost since I am doing a turbo build on my black 2000 I’ve never owned a nitrous car or used it at all for that matter
The turbo car has 373 in it as well

But as far as my problem goes are we all just suggesting to rebuild the differential? Ever done this before or even been inside one of these things so not sure which parts are referring to when you name them.

You need a new set of 3:73's. A diff. clutch rebuild kit, a diff. install kit that can be the heavy duty one if you want.
You MUST measure the right side bearing race mount for size. The picture you showed had a shiny bearing mount from the bearing spinning around because the bolts were loose and the bearing shims pics show the same ridge from wear from the bearing spinning around and the right side bearing is all torn up in the pic. You have got to measure the bearing mount to see if you have any clamping force when you put it back together, it could be oval shaped and will spin again and your back to the same noise you had before.
