Anyone ever replaced the tailshaft bushing and seal on a t45? Getting some noise and vibrations from the tailshaft area of the trans and i believe this could be the culprit. Driveshaft has a good amount of play where it enters the back of the trans. Havent found much info on how to tackle this and if i can just pull the tailshaft of the trans while still in the car if its needed to come out. Any info or tips are greatly appreciated!!

Like this...lol. This guy wanted a roller bearing inplace of the bushing, but to answer your question, yes both bushing and seal can be replaced. And you might be able to dismount the tailshaft housing with out dropping the entire tranny. Their is enough room to get the bolts out. Ive never done this, because the tranny had to always come out for other reasons.

Thanks 96! So I'm assuming the tailshaft def needs to come off for the bushing replacement? Roller bearing def seems like a good idea too

Yes...Tailshaft housing will need to come off to replace bushing. Send it my way with your desired bearing of choice if you want it like the picture.

It's getting ready to go on Jack stands for the winter and I'm gonna get it apart. Might have to go that route. How much to machine it for a bearing?

Is that a drop in replacement or is machining required?

This is awesome, I will have to go this route. Let me know when you get the part number on the bearing and if you want to do another one we will talk business when the time comes.
