Tach No Worky...

my tach hasnt worked since i bought my car, i really didnt need it until i started racing my car.

right now it is on the other side of 0...sometimes i will move up and go back to the right side of 0, and sometimes it will work when it is there, but most of the time it sits still and other times it will only move when i start getting up in the rpms. what the hell is wrong with it???

Most of the time when our tachs don't work is because of a loose wire or the guage circuite bored is damaged. take off your gauge cluster should only be about 2 screws for the cover and thats snaped on. then like 4 for the cluster .now pull it out and roatat it because the wires don't let you go far with the cluster unless you un plug it. there souls be two areas where you will see a bunch of wires pluged in make sure there plugged wiggle them a little too. reassemble it and see if it works my friend had the same problem it would somtimes move but not ever work so try this not a hard process.
