If anyone knows me they know I think foxbodies are ugly but gotta hand it to them on weight and seeing Alot at drag strip. I recently pulled my h/c nitrous motor out of my street camaro and a 6.0 to favor a Huron speed v2 tt kit that it will be a guinea pig for. So I started looking at foxes and I am a cheap ass and I think they are ugly so I started looking for my favorite body style sn95.. which can be had for half as much. Now internet numbers are all over the place on to actual weight. Does anyone here have some real scale numbers on a sn95(94-98) and Fox body weight numbers? I don't care if it's in race status or not but it will give a real number. this is the only mustang site that doesn't mess up on my phone..

Going to look at a Fox roller today for 1200 with no hood but still can get a full running 94gt for 1500 lol.

Its true lol

Sn95 is the same car just 300-400 lbs heavier.

My 98 Gt was 2750-2800lbs after some work. So you can get a snive down to fox weight if you know what to do...

Weight is not a significant difference between the two. I was surprised at how easily my race car got under 3k.

Are you building a real drag car? Like to compete?

I've disliked both my Fox's for drivers, but for a race car, just go with whatever is cheapest. Which is probably a SN95. 5lug is easier to find drag wheels in lol

Wanna do a street driven grudge car. I want it to look stock as possible and weigh 3k lbs with me in it. I have another Camaro that is my race car but I built it for a specific record and don't wanna change anything on it till I get the record and everyone already knows too much about it and it can be driven on street because its tagged but passed that its not street friendly at all. New setup people can know its a nitrous lsx but that's it.

I'd trade my 04 for a 87-89 in similar condition without much thought, that is if I didn't owe money. 87-89 you get the sport seats with adjustable thigh bolster, 90+ they decontented that. Learned stick on an '88 GT so they have sentimental value to me.

If weight is your main concern then I would get a Fox, they are the easiest to get weight out, 79-82 will be the lightest and are very cheap, but a SN95 will give you better brakes and more room for bigger tires without doing a mini tub.

Sn95's are the way to go now days for race car. My cars well under 3k lbs so they're easy to get light

I got my 88 Coupe down to 2750lbs without me in the car, all the safety requirements for 8.50s with a Turbo Kit and a stock K-member, it takes a lot more work and money to get a Fox or an SN95 in the 2600lb range but a SN95 will require more work to get in the 2700lb range.

well with the new job I just landed and the pay increase and the area I am moving to I am moving it from a street grudge car to a decent x275 car. I will be using a SN95 and it will be chevy powered. The class I am looking at running isn't that fast. Its basically a beginners 275. average is about a mid 5

I like the sounds of this my car is eventually being built towards x275 I'm all about small tire cars . So I'm assuming your going 5.3LS with a 88mm turbo. Can't wait to see what you end up doing .
