I picked up this heap the other day. It's a 95 Mustang GT. It had a few pros, and a whole lot of cons.
The body is decently straight, and the paint is a good 10fter. Overall, it looks respectable I guess.
The interior is pretty decent, somebody dyed the door panels black, which annoys me... I'll be going back to a gray set.
It ran... well, kind of! It would only stay running with the mass air and IAC unplugged.
The exhaust consisted of stock headers, a decent'ish o/r x-pipe, and some 10 series knocks offs with turn downs. Instead of using flowtubes, they just cut the flange off the x-pipe, and welded the mufflers straight to it... you can probably imagine how the fitment was. Mufflers hung really low, so low they had holes in them from all the road rash. When I backed it off the trailer, I forgot about the mufflers being so low, and of course they got hung up on the trailer and bent the x-pipe up... I might be able to straighten it out? It was leaking at the header connection anyways, because you know, they bolts were loose.
The car did have a GT40 (Explorer) intake, a Trickflow elbow, unknown TB, 42lb injectors, a power dyne supercharger, and a BBK mass air.
I got the car home and started checking into it. There were vacuum leaks everywhere. I think I got most of them fixed, and now the car will run with the mass air and IAC plugged in, but now it's running pig rich (I'm sure they massive exhaust leaks aren't helping that.)
First order of business is to get a decent exhaust on it. I'll be searching for some decent used headers (preferably long tubes, but whatever.) I will also probably just replace the mid pipe (with a cheap used h or x pipe.) For the cat back, I'll probably just pick up a cat back off ebay (either one of the flowmaster 40 series knock offs, of the DNA one for the 96-04 cars (the 94-95 systems are out of stock everywhere.)
I'm probably yank the e7 off and go with some gt40 heads. Then I'll probably drop it off at stlmustangs and get it turned... I really don't like the power dyne, but it's there so I'll use it. Hoping for around 375 to the rear wheels once its tuned. Later on down the road I might do a 351w swap and do a turbo...
Here's some pics from the previous owner... I'll start posting more pics as I work on it... I will also have a video series on this car.
