My gauge usually shows 200-210°F coolant temperature with the stock 195°F thermostat. So I installed a 180°F-Thermostat today.

The temp is still 210°F max. What's wrong? :dunno:

unless you have a hand held tuner it will still reach that temperature. You need to adjust the temp where the fan kicks in. The 180 t stat will just delay the time it gets there. You will notice it when it is cooler out.

Me too... Sometimes it runs cooler, but sometimes it runs the same as before the swap.

The modulars run hot!

mine was usually toward the top of the scale in the summer.

best way to correct it is a better radiator, the stock one is pretty thin.

Might help some when it's sitting or running normal. I'd think when it's running hot, the fan's already on, so it won't help you there.

you need to have your fans set to turn on earlier when installing a cooler tstat...this can be done with a handheld tuner.
