Today some fellow Mustangers and I went to the Belgian town of Doel. For those of you who remember, I was there 3 yrs ago as well. Doel is right next to the Antwerp port, and in the 70s the port needed to be expanded so the little town of Doel needed to go. People were bought out and the town became empty. Now, all these years later, most of Doel is still there and empty. Lots of houses are vandalised, weeds are growing everywhere and there's a lot of graffiti. So the perfect location for photo's! Given the things that happened in Nice last night and the apocalyptic nature of the photo's, I name this series "the end of the world". Enjoy! This was the entire crew. You are looking at a 2011 GT500, a 2015 Ecoboost, a 1988 Fox, a 1970 Mach1 Twister Special and a 2013 Grabber Blue. Greetings from the Dutch and Belgian Mustangers!
I was wondering if it was the same place when you posted pictures on Facebook. Awesome location and awesome photos! picture #12 <3
cool place but I am confused. The port needed space so they shut down a city and then never did anything with it?
Yes. Welcome to Belgium. Did I mention the town is also right next to a nuclear power station? (You can see one of the cooling towers in the top right corner of the first photo)
Mack One of the best photoshoots posted here in a long time. And dont mind tally hes obsessed with telling everyone to go low. If you asked me id say your ride height is perfect.
Haha, thanks for the compliment, but hardly. I do enjoy taking photo's though. The photo's are taken only with a pocket camera (although it is a very good one): Canon G7X
I'll look up that camera...& check it out! Right now I am mostly using a Canon SX700 with a fantastic zoom...I need that & more for my bird pics...I love Canon products! Keep on shooting & posting! We love your pics!
I like a camera that I can bring anywhere and keep in my pocket. Before this one I had a Canon Powershot S110, which I loved and took over 10k photo's with until it broke. I bought this, which is the unofficial successor, and I love this one even more. Biggest downside is lack of zoom, though, not sure if useful for snapping birds.
