So, after buying my 97 cobra with 128k miles, i did the seafoam, and i tried to rev it after it sucked it through the pcv hose and it shut off before i got to clean it out.

After starting the car it started making a ticking noise passing 2000 rpm and ending at around 3100 rpm then it goes away. so when i turned it off i thought it would be a good idea to change the oil, thinking the seafoam probably went straight to the oil. after changing the oil i still have the sticking noise.

so now i think the owner put thicker oil to cover the noise or something. so heres my question; Does this mean i have a loose lifter or something? has anyone had this problem? hope its a easy fix i really want to keep this one so please any help is appreciated.

sound like your chain tensioners are a little weak or not getting enough oil. believe it or not i found out though that thicker oil can hurt the mod motors after time not enough oil to the cam jernals
