So I hit the big 100k on my 95 5.0 and I want to know if I should be changing out the timing chain? Isn't this supposed to be a normal maintenance item or something, and how much does it cost? Just figured I'd ask, I love my car, I really don't want anything bad to happen to it.

It will probably be fine for another 100k. I can't recall hearing a single story of a timing chain snapping on a factory 5.0L motor. Anyone?

If its running fine then its fine, chains dont snap on stock motors. It jus doesn't happen. They stretch sometimes....very rarely. If it doesn't backfire and the power is good I would say its still fine.
