Is there anything wrong with me setting my timing to 16 instead of 14 like most recommend? Cause it runs excellent on 16! Also on my dads 87 gt we loosened the distributor bolt and the distributor won't turn! It stuck solid, what to do?

If it runs fine. Go for it.. on the stuck distributor. I used a wrench to pry up on it..

Most people only run14 degrees because it pings any higher than that.
Foxes can get away with higher because they have a dofferent computer.
For your Dad's dizzy, spray some PB blaster on the base and let it sit over night. You should be able to work it loose in the morning. You'll also want to get an new O-ring once you get it out.

I have no pinging at all, in fact it rubs as smooth as ever, of course I have always used premium gas in it. So 16 is fine since I have no pinging? Could I maybe even go to 18?

There is a point were the car will stop making power from adding timing. I would just stick with 14-16.

The distributor shaft has a hex portion on it, put a wrench on it and give it a little push. Should break free. PB blaster can't hurt either

We tried a wrench with a breaker bar and still couldn't get it, will let it soak awhile

Yeah I'm in with everyone. 14-16 with 93.

You ou can try heat but be very sparing with it.

rz50 is right. your car will stop making power at some point with timing. to find the best timing you'll have to go to the track and make some runs. don't look at your time but your mph. creep up on your timing until u get your highest mph without your car pinging. if mph drops then you've gone too far and will need to back it off. as far as getting the distributor off good luck, when the get seized up they r a PAIN.
