Sizes...im looking to run a smaller (thinner) tire up front, and the widest possible.

Is this grip AND wet weather? Or grip IN wet weather? 2 different things.
For a cheap, good quality tire, look into Nitto NT555s or the Kumho Ecsta series.

255/40/17 would look great up front. I have a 255/45 and stepping down to a small sidewall is just what I wanted to get the perfect fit.

I have a 295 on my 17x9's. I wouldn't go with anything more than that.

Wet weather grip in a daily driven sn95 would be my #1 priority!....i have done unintentional donuts on the interstate with my '96.

Do you not like your Fusions?
I have those on the front and I'm very happy with them. No hydroplaning, wear is good.

they arent bad, they are worn past there life and im just trying to get some good ideas. for wet weather they havent been to great, but thats more than likely bc the low tread now.

why even bother with a nitto 555r, go with the BfG Sport comp 2 that has better treadwear, better ratings, and is only 3 bucks more. Just a better overall tire IMO.

The Ecsta are all season which is a pretty good tire for sure.

Yeah that 295 on a 17x9 I don't think is smart. Your actually hurting your handling and performance.

He said the 555's NOT the 555R.
555's are a great tire I have them on mine and they do excellent in rain and they did great on ice this year.

Yeah I accidently added the r. I meant the normal 555. They still out perform the 555. And will outperform that tire in all aspects!

I'd go with the Nitto NT555. I have them on mine and have absolutely zero issues with them. They have zero road noise and I can tell you this... going from a Fuzion to a NT555 will be night and day. A fuzion is the worst tire made IMO. I work at a tire shop and I have yet to hear of someone happy with them.

Ive had horrible tire noise with every 555 and R I've had. Sounds like a mini freight train. Never rode on fuzion before. Dunlop Direzza Bfg kdw2 and sport comp have been really nice with wear and hardly any noise. My falkens have been amazing.

That's funny, because my KDW's sounded like a freight train and wore like shit. Lol
