Looking at finally getting some decent tires and fishing for suggestions. My best mate had Goodyear Eagle F1 's on his SC400 and loved them and I am thinking about getting those. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I LOVE my BFG Gforce KDs. I will deff get another set when these go. You can get the KDW series if you do a bit more wet weather driving.

Lots like their Nittos but they arnt that good at all in the rain.

i have kdw and they are a great tire. I have heard good things about nittos too. I dunno what size you want but i think http://www.discounttiredirect.comdiscounttiredirect.com had the nitto 555r's in 245's for pretty cheap (107 or something like that). i believe the f1's are the most expensive tire in the same class but are a good tire. i got my kdw for 144 and i think they have went down in price on there site too.

I'm running ES100s as well, they are a great tire. Very reasonably priced and they give good grip wet or dry.

One more question on tires. I think I'm going with the BFG, now a question of size. I have 17x9 wheels front and back. Should I go with 245/45/17 in the front, and 275/40/17 for the back? or just go with the 245 all around? Don't mind my ignorance on the issue I'm going from buying 31" tires for the truck to buying stuff for my new love.

why not go 275 all the way arond?

you can, I think they will clear on front.........I just like having wider tires in the rear than on front

My professional opinion working as a Apprentice tech, A Tire salesman/Rep for Michelin/BFG and now working for Toyota, that 245 is too narrow to put on the 17x9. Will it fit? Of course
Will the tire last? Most likely not.

Save yourself the $$ and go with a 255 or higher

245's really should not be a consideration. Much too small for a 9" wheel. Seems dangerous to me and would look like azz. A lot of people go 275's at each corner with your size wheels and are OK. If you drop or are dropped, you may have a rubbing issue. You'll just have to do it and see. If so, plan on getting some wheel spacers - you won't need much, probably no more than 1/2" to clear and get your turning radius back.
I've heard of a lot of people just dealing with the rubbing, since it only happens at low speeds like in parking situations.
