My professional opinion working as a Apprentice tech, A Tire salesman/Rep for Michelin/BFG and now working for Toyota, that 245 is too narrow to put on the 17x9. Will it fit? Of courseCocomojo said:One more question on tires. I think I'm going with the BFG, now a question of size. I have 17x9 wheels front and back. Should I go with 245/45/17 in the front, and 275/40/17 for the back? or just go with the 245 all around? Don't mind my ignorance on the issue I'm going from buying 31" tires for the truck to buying stuff for my new love.
245's really should not be a consideration. Much too small for a 9" wheel. Seems dangerous to me and would look like azz. A lot of people go 275's at each corner with your size wheels and are OK. If you drop or are dropped, you may have a rubbing issue. You'll just have to do it and see. If so, plan on getting some wheel spacers - you won't need much, probably no more than 1/2" to clear and get your turning radius back.Cocomojo said:now a question of size.
