Just wondering what the top speed would be on a 97 gt with a set of 3.73's. The tires are also 18" instead of 17's but the tire size is the same so i dont thin that matters. Just looking for a rough estimate, i was thiking around 120?

Top speed should be about the same as with the stock gears. maybe 140. Limiting factor is wind resistance.
You will not rev out in 5th but you will get to max speed a little faster with your gears. Personally I have never pushed it past 100
but it gets there no problem in 4th. I find it scary at 100, probably wont do it anymore. Be careful if you do.

well, I have an auto with 3.73s....they will actually raise the top speed and let you get ther faster ...im not gonna mention any names but I know someone with an auto 96 with 3.73s thats hit 135 no problem.

I'm stationed in Germany also. Thank God for the Autobahn!!!!!! O0 My stock 2.73 would top out at 150mph, level or slightly down hill and give me the distance with no traffic to do it. With 3.73s I can get up there quicker, but you really can't maintain that speed it's too drag limited. The only mods I have are PI intake, CAI, MAC cat back, lowered with BBK springs. Maintaining(not for too long) 130-135 is not that hard, you just aint gonna have enuff cleared road unless it's 3 am in the morning.

3.73s arent gonna raise your top speed...
and like the last couple people said, with 373s you wont top out...a guy i know with an 04 used his nitrous on the highway once with his 4.10s and he said he almost maxed out at 150.

i hit 135 in 4th with my stock 3.27s and it still felt like it was pulling. thats just with exhaust, CAI, and PI intake. should be easier with 3.73s. make sure you got the tires to do it though

I hit 146 mph when my 98gt was bone stock. Haven't tried since the gears and charger though.

No lol here on the turn pike at 2am in the morning a nice stretch of highway for about 3 miles maybe alittle more than that, it isn't straight but it is a lllllong slight curve and my car hit 140 and the last 6 took for ever lol. My car would not be as scary now b/c it can run up there much quicker with the p1sc and then back down sooner and you are going that fast for long. My buddies saleen hit like almost 190ish but it was quick and he got outta it. That is just tooo fast lol.
I know mine is a 32valvle and goes to 6,800rpms, but I get to 100mph in 3rd with my 3.73's. I would imagine I could go to 130-140mph in 4th. Unfortunately I have never had her above 115mph cause I will not risk losing my liscence to do it and the road course I run doesn't have any longer stretches than about 1/4 mile.

on a side note...
My buddy put his Z28 into a brick mailbox at 100MPH. He was ejected through his T-Top and broke his back and neck in 4 places... hes going to require lots of physical therapy for a long time before he is walking again.
