Hi all,
Theoretical top speed on a 03 cobra is over 200 mph (if you hit 7k rpm's in 6th gear)

What is the fastest recorded speed?

I dont think id want to be in any sn95 beyond 130mph. Ive been 120mph in someone elses and it was relatively stock, but it felt like it was about to take flight

Well, i have been in my car at 130 a few times and it was stable. A vintage CANAM driver pegged the speedo at 160 and he was still in 5th gear at the time...

Theoretically, mine was at 152mph when I broke a piston. That was in 5th gear (t45 transmission).

I haven’t tried again. Multiple 130mph pulls, because it’s trapping mid to upper 130’s in the quarter now.

I have a t6 with a upgraded input shaft. All max motorsport track upgrades. My car weighs about 2900 lbs with a much lower center of gravity and my wheelbase is 7" longer than stock...

Online calculators take into account HP, gearing, and maybe weight. But they don't factor drag. You will not get to 200mph in a stock 03/04 Cobra. You will need at least a hundred or two-hundred more HP with a car over 3500 lb and iffy aero characteristics.

I’ve done 288kmh in my mystic cobra . Police verified that’s right around 175mph if my maths right . Young and dumb lol . I could top the cars speedo out at 160mph in 4th and grab 5th

If the roads long enough you probably would get close . My 96 cobra with favourite 3.27’s was a highway rocket

I think the Cobra was limited to 155MPH and mostly due to aerodynamic instability beyond that. Regardless, at that speed it's really HP vs aero to obtain top speed.

I think the Mustang GTD hit 187 on Nurburging recently and watching the video that Ford posted, it took a while to get up to that number after 160MPH and that car has 815HP. (but weighs 4000lb)

Back in 2003, when i bought my GT brand spanking new, i got a rare opportunity to max it out and hit 135ish on a long straight. It felt very stable, but this car was also brand spanking new. That was the last time i've been that fast. I don't even think i've taken my Fox body past 85MPH in close to a decade. Recently i've been 120MPH in a Porsche GT3 and that felt incredible! Such a stable machine at speed.

That’s impressive because the straight away I had to get to 175 was 200 miles long

The GTD could easily break 200mph but with its massive downforce from that track wing, eh, I just don't know. It was designed to slay tracks not so much top speed.
