Would like to get some opinions from those who have done this.

I currently have a set of UMI reinforcements plates bolted in situ. I made up a gasket for under the topside plates when installed a couple years ago. So there cannot be any welding inside the car. So what should be welded bottom side and would just tacks here and there be sufficient rather than long beads? Have sub frames stitched in place.

Car is a weekend driver (at most 1000 miles per yr) with many trips to the strip. Low hp car on drag radials, no power adder in the future, not likely to ever exceed 300 at the tire as there is no one that knows how to tune these cars in my area.

There is a T5 conversion somewhere down the road, so maybe a 26 x 8.5" slick at that time?

What's the suggestions?
