yea I remember it being a bit of a puzzle in the order they had to go on, or how they had to face and after all the trouble there was BARELY enough room for everything. I thought it had to do with my supercharger crap but I know I did them in the wrong order at least one time to remember it.

A common mistake ive seen people make countless times throughout the years is getting the tstat pinched at the bottom of the housing cause it slid out of the housing groove on install.
Always use a tiny bit of rtv in the oring of the housing and place the tstat in it.
Let it tac dry before install this way it stays in place.
look when you take out the old one to see if it was seated properly when installed. Also look at th mating surface on both housing and intake.

I QUIT! 4th f*g time. Still leaks. Insert a considerable sequence of profanity here, none of which flowed or made sense.
Both thermostats fit the same in the depression inside the water neck. Tiny bit of wiggle room. The only visual difference I can see is the old one does not have the little pin. Not sure what that little pin does or is for, but it’s the only visible difference I can see.
And it’s the same little drip after each time.
I friggin’ QUIT. I mean, how hard is a thermostat replacement? I’ve done over a dozen and have NEVER had this shit happen. Insert additional expletives here:

ok just out of complete stupidity(I am not saying you are but we all mess up from time to time), we are sure we have it facing the right direction right? There isn't ANY possibility that it got switched somehow and you just kept doing it? Please do not misunderstand this to be talking down to you, calling you anything other than human.

My only other suggestion is to take it off again and make sure it is perfectly flat and has not warped somehow.

Are the bolts the correct ones? Maybe to long and bottoming out before it’s actually tight

actually now that I think about it, doesn't one of them go through to the water passage and they say to put a dab of RTV on the end of the bolt?

Ok let’s start from the basics.

Are you sure the leak is coming from the housing gasket? If it is, pull everything off and post some pictures of the mating surfaces. I have a good feeling the “goop” you are using isn’t letting everything sit together right.

Not offended at all, Scott. And yes, that much I got right: fat side inward towards the motor; pyramid pointy side toward the radiator!
I’ve checked out enough YouTube videos now to be completely confused about what’s best: your method which makes sense to me; no goop; light film of goop both sides; bead of goop to hold T-stat in place so you can install it, followed by goop around the edge but not around the bolt holes.
And some say tighten to spec. Others say tighten the snot out of it to the point just before cracking. And how do you know when uproar that point?

This shouldn’t be this hard. I’ll check the water neck for flat next go around.

Errrrrgh!

You should not need anything other than the gasket. Like I said, I would just check the mating surfaces for flatness and any damage. That’s your best option as of now.
