So I'm going ot swap my automatic transmission for a manual transmission, and I was wonder what's the best tranny that will fit into a 1997 V6... could I put a cobra six speed in it? I really just want a transmission that can take any abuse I want to give it and still come back strong... if any one knows I'd great appriciate some oppinions.

No, they have different bellhousings.
They have bell houseings out now to make the switch, but you would have to make a different tranny crossmember as the T-56 will not with the one in place now.
Why would you want such a heavy tranny anyway?
I would just buy a built 4R70W and be done with it, at least that is what I did with mine. Its built to withstand 650 rwhp, more then I will ever need.
