the other day my car was on the lift.
i was looking at my transmission . it said tremtec on it
and it looked brand new. my car is a 97 gt.
is this the transmission that comes with the car or was it changed??

hmmm i thought the manuals were t-45's from borg warner but then i think they merged but not until a few years ago...so you may have a Tremec replacement.

no. you should have a t-45. tremec is a bad ass tranny though.

I swapped at tremec t-45 into my 97 out of a 99 cobra. prolly just a late model swap.

my '98 GT has a factory T45, and it also says tremec. also, I just bought another one out of a '98 GT that has the tremec stamp.

when swappin engines could u use your tranny u got or you gotta take the tranny from the engine u swappin in too........for example i got a 98 gt n if i got a 03/04 cobra engine wut tranny would i use, the one i got or the one from cobra ???? and what else would i need to swap it in ?

Use either. If you use the t-56 you will need to get the speedcal EXT, and wire up the reverse switch
