Trying to identify a strange noise on my daily driver.

My daily recently started making an intermittent rattling noise while going down the road. Doesn't sound like an exhaust heat shield. It is a high pitched rattle, like coins jingling. Any suggestions what it might be? TIA.

Only on bumps or rougher roads? Possibly sway bar end links. They rattle a ton.

What kind of car is it?

That’s a funny way to spell Mustang isn’t it? In all seriousness, is there a certain area the noise is coming from? Any conditions? The more details the better.

Hey, can't fit all the crap I get in the back of a Mustang, even with the top down! In all seriousness, no idea where it is coming from, only hear it when driving the car and the sound bounces off the curb. Thinking right side of the car. I'll put it up on ramps later today or tomorrow and start knocking and pulling on stuff. In the mean time, no clue.

I have just not read much good about the long term reliability of mitsubishi and ya just do not see a lot of older models on the road and think there is a connection.

My daily mazdaspeed3 rear springs had broke ends. Like 3inches of the spring had broke off the bottom side that sit inside the spring perch/cup and they rattled like mad! Very hidden as well. Very loud and was a high pitch rattle, almost like a bell. I searched for the rattle and couldnt find it untill I swapped out all the suspension to coilovers. In a way it was sort of embarrassing cruising the car because the rattle was set of so easily.

how many miles are on it? Just curious as I have been seeing that some dealerships still have new/old stock 2023's on the lot that never sold and curious if it was one or?

Those new Escape's seem to be on the more reliable side of new Fords but at the end of the day it is still a new Ford.

Regardless, good luck with it and glad you are enjoying it.

There was a pretty big recall regarding spot welds in the front doors that were not adequate, and part of the door would separate and possibly fall off if I remember correctly. The outer skin and the inner skin.

Recall required removal of both front doors, drilling out the spot welds, riveting them instead, and putting it all back, with some special measuring tricks to find the exact location. I believe it was worth 3 hours from Ford, although I always went over. The door harness and connector is a pain, and the door latch is completely plastic. I broke one once, and they cost a lot, so I improvised.

That could be why so many are still on the lot. I kind of like the way they look on the outside though, the lower trim models especially.

Used, but had 6,400 miles. It was a company fleet vehicle and not driven much. The charge cord was still in the factory wrapper.
