I have a tubular K as well. A/C is still there, though it has a leak.
No problem with an inspection in MA.

No regrets.

Just have to decide if you’re willing to run coil overs or want to keep coils. If you’d rather keep coils, go with the BMR. If you want coil overs, you have a plethora of options. Personally, I’m using the MM part and it’s been great.

Don’t think you’ll have an issue with AC

To be clear, are you talking about a tubular K-Member or a tubular front end?

Thats what im wondering. When i hear tubular front end im not thinking kmember or arms but front end. Two distinctly different things.

I assumed he meant K, and not an entire tube front end kit (not street legal).

It would take some light fabrication work, but you could retain air conditioning no problem. You'd just have to mount the condenser.

If weight savings is your goal, you should do tubular k-member, tubular control arms and coilovers before jumping to a tubular front end. Also a smaller/lighter battery.

What might side this discussion, if anyone can provide first hand experience, is:
What difference(s) do you gain with a tubular front end vs stock?

Might help newbie “all da beanz” with his decision making. Just my unsolicited $.02

Cheers!

Weight is lighter
Could install a fiber glass front clip
Almost anything
How much lighter?
How much is a fiberglass front clip?
What are the additional parts/costs required?
How much fabrication is required, if any?

Just curious….

Not that I have ever had one, but this is likely drag racing level stuff I would say. It’s all going to require fabrication. Usually you have to fabricate something to mount it to and either rivet it on or Zeus fastening it on whatever you want.

I’ve never had a car at this level that had to go through tech. I would say it depends on the track, you can look at the NHRA rules and see what they specify. Not all tracks follow the rules when it comes to inspection, at the end, I would say you need to make sure it’s safe and functional.

I would guess 80 pounds
And front clips lighten the crap out of it to
Prices vary
I bought one for 69 fast back
Paid 1400 for the install kit and fiberglass front clip
Place in California that did them
