Tune or not to tune?

The shop is just about done with the "non-PI to PI" complete engine switch on my '96, the newer engine is from a 2001 GT. My question - should I pay to have a tune done NOW? The shop that's working on my car is Mid Atlantic Performance, which is apparently a respected calibration facility.

Problem is my budgets about shot and having the tune is pushing the limit. I'd like to wait a few months to get the tune done, but not if it's going to cause issues with the car.

Advice please!

If your budget doesn't allow it, then just give it a couple months.
You shouldn't have any problems if its just a PI motor.

Thanks. I'll just wait until I can afford it and if it's running fine, maybe I'll just skip it and buy more mods!

Well, yeah. Don't tune until you have more mods. Otherwise you'll be tuning more than once. Unless you get an email tune from a company that offers free lifetime tunes.
