Ah...right. I think the Manleys I was talking about were the ones you were contemplating on pg.3. Gotcha!
Yeah I've been pretty back and fourth on what I was going to go with. Lots of good reviews on the Mahle pistons for what Im going to be running this engine at. Great price too through Modmax!

Alright update where this thing is at...

Purchased

Boss Rods + Rod Bolts = $186 shipped
Mahle Pistons, pin, locks, rings = 650 shipped
King Main and Rod Bearings = $120
ARP Main Studs = $100
Ford Racing HG and Head Bolts = $120
Various engine gaskets = $100
Water pump = $50
Oil Pump = $80
Chains & Tensioners = $150

All the remaining stuff will be here this week so should have an assembled longblock by this weekend.... Hopefully

Also if I'm adding this up right I will now have an assembled forged Longblock (besides the crank) for around $1500 bucks. To me if this thing withstands 500+rwhp It was well worth the money and time doing.

Thats impressive. What did you do for the oil pump? Did you just go back to factory? At what power level do you need to upgrade?

I bought a ford racing one which is basically a cobra pump. The billet gear pumps are really expensive. From what I understand it's horsepower and rpm that kills the factory pumps. I'm running factory camshafts so will not be spinning this thing too high and should be alright. If I go with aftermarket cams I will probably swap in some billet gears.

Might as well update this thread where the engine is at today.

Same shortblock - made 420rwhp in 2017 on 12lbs of boost and low timing 14 degrees or so

Romeo Cast Iron Block
Romeo 6 bolt steel crankshaft
Boss "Road Runner" Rods
Mahle -16cc Dished Forged Pisons - Top rings gapped at .022 and bottom at .018
ARP main bolts
Ford Racing Head Bolts and and HG
HO Oil Pump with Boundary Billet Oil bump Gears
Factory PI heads with CMS stg2 Springs and CMS 2.5 Blower Cams
Engine CR is around 10.1:1

With the rpm i will be spinning this year should see around 16/17psi. Hoping for upper 500rwhp

Thanks I'm really happy with it. Hoping it still sounds like this after it gets tuned.

Update on budget engine: Fall 2018

Car is running in the 6's now (1/8th). Was planning on selling the blower kit and going turbo but am having seconds thoughts again as my stock t45 will not be holding out much longer. New plans for this winter include a built 3650 and installing a IW 15% overdrive pulley, Bigger intercooler and hopefully switch over to E-85. I think I should be able to get this motor into the 600hp range with that and get this car into the low 10's high 9's which would be a 6.50/6.40 1/8th mile run.

Do a 10rib belt?
Surprisingly I'm still at a 6 rib and haven't ran into any belt slip issues yet. I'm guessing an overdrive pulley shouldn't cause a higher belt slip issue giving the belt more rotational contact. I'm thinking my issues aren't bad as I've re-routed my belt diagram and have removed alot of un-needed pullies.
