Looking good!
Thanks!

Got lucky yesterday with a CL find. I have been searching for a pair of replacement interior quarter panels as after removing the cool but worthless "styling bar" to weld in a real roll bar. The plastic panels had a bunch of holes in them from the previous install, and repairing them was not something I wanted to spend a lot of time doing. Found a set out of a New Edge for a decent $40 and all they need is some paint.

Got a bit of wiring done yesterday. Relays are wired into the Holley EFI and are all ground switched for low and high fan control. Remaining relays are going to be used for the nitrous solenoids when I eventually install a dry system. The Sniper can add fuel for a dry system and I'm going to just run a simple dry fogger and let the Sniper take care of fuel enrichment and timing control.

All of the power is sourced from the factory fuse box, and the remaining wiring was removed that I was not using. Cleaned up the harness and re ran all of the light wiring to be a bit cleaner. Nothing super exciting or show car worthy but it definitely cleans up the engine bay a bit. The board the relays and ignition sit on still needs to be removed and painted when I get time.

Next project is to wire the transmission up and replace the TCC with the updated one that the US Shift controller comes with (1996-1997 4R70W transmission TCC). The controller has a pretty wide adjust ability to it, including being able to use a ground triggered paddle shifter to move through the gears. It also has full control of the TCC in any gear as opposed to just the factory configuration of basic cruise operation. Should be fun to tinker with.

Kind of the same pics as before just with some wiring now:

So after a lot of thought on the header wrap on the headers I decided I did not like it, and had them ceramic coated. They look much better me thinks.

That last pic, the header does clear the valve cover, just the angle I took it.

how much space between the battery? You might want to think about a heat shield
The pic angles are a bit deceptive, its about 6" down to the battery and about the same distance over to the electronics. Once I get it running Ill take a look and see what if any radiant heat issues I may have.

I have no exciting Mustang updates. Mainly because my wife and I lost our minds and replaced both of our vehicles (to be fair they were both starting to cost more than they were worth). Now we are an all Blue Oval family :). Love the AWD Ecoboost cars!

Well made some minor progress yesterday by fabricating one of the main hoop base supports. They are probably overkill but having seen a few roll overs where the main hoop plunged right through the body because of a poor base support, I would rather air on the side of caution. The welds here are not going to win any beauty contests but will provide for plenty of structural rigidity. The bars will all be TIG'ed in by not me :). One down three to go.

I'm not sure of everyone's thoughts but think I may actually run no hood and this big assed intake for a bit to try it out. Mainly because one day I was putting stuff away in the garage and a ladder step on my wooden ladder gave way. I fell back on the car, breaking the spoiler and the hood slid off of the roof and is now garbage (maybe). I have no hood for now, ugh.

Anyway, gratuitous engine shot for fun:

Not sure if you noticed, but your missing the belt. It’s kind of important............. [emoji1787]

Ha, yeah one of the many details I have to attend to!

Speaking of such, got my muffler and exhaust exit figured out. Exiting out the driver side at the bumper just in front of the front tire. I'm happy with it, still need to finish weld and wrap it but the visible part will look like this:

It's pretty much a straight shot out through the Dynomax muffler. Think I mentioned it before but exhaust is 1 3/4" primaries, 3" collectors and secondaries into the "Y" that is 3"x2 into 3" expanding out to 4" and 4" out.

This thing is going to shoot some frigging awesome flames with the 2 step!

Got a lot of wiring done in the engine compartment yesterday. Did a bit of basic protection to the wiring that runs somewhat close to the headers. In reality there is plenty of distance between the two especially with the headers being coated, but better safe than sorry. I debated running everything under and around in the fender wells but I would rather have everything easily accessible in case I need to repair or diagnose. I used the pressure switch on the Wilwood brake bias valve (normally used to activate brake lights) to signal the Sniper two step and launch control that way I can leave on the two step with just the brakes. That should be fun to tinker with! I was going to split the TPS sensor signal right off of the Sniper control unit for the US Shift controller, but a number of people have identified random issues when doing this so I just used a stand alone TCI TPS that runs off of the throttle linkage.

Finally winding down on the engine bay wiring.

Making Weatherpack harnesses is really time consuming but in the end will be totally worth it. I have been integrating the remaining existing wiring harness into the Holley harness so it is a seamless operation, plus the 25 year old Ford stuff was in less than exemplary condition.
