I am going to "attempt" to explain the valve timing events relative to the V8 engine in my own words, hopefully simplifying it to an easier understanding an also shed light on what improves power with valve timing events. Ill be posting explanation helper pics of doodles and such to help with the understanding.
I mention "valve timing events" over using "cam" timing due to camshaft changing the valve timing with every increasing rpm.
So im gonna claim a few more spaces down this thread.

Pic below is the compression stroke and degree of crankshaft rod journal. We will call it #1 cylinder. I want you to keep in mind the other 7 cylinders and what they are doing.
