Ok, I've had three mustangs and never had to change the starter so I wanna make sure I've diagnosed the right part. When I turn the key the starter engages and turns the engine, right when the engine takes off and when I think the starter would disengage there is a short chirping noise about 3 times and then everything thing is ok. Does this sound like a starter to you guys? I would think maybe the starter is not disengaging and it chirps when the flywheel keeps turning it. Your input is appreciated.

Yep,you got it.....almost sounds like a bunch of chipmonks laughing at you.lol (best way that i can describe it) The bendix isn't disengageing.....common problem, and mine does it mainly when it's cold out. I'm just too lazy to pull it.lol
