My viper 300 alarm box as shown in the pictures keeps falling from the inside of the dash board and I just got a key fob from my dads friend and I am trying to learn and figure out how to program the key fob/ figure out if my alarm system in the car works. Any idea's? He told me to start with finding the valet switch or button and I'm not seeing it anywhere. All help is appreciated!20190304_171357.jpg 20190304_171405.jpg 20190304_171420.jpg 20190311_134453.jpg on the back of the fob the number is 302107a

not sure that remote will work, does it say DEI/viper on the back?

Looking at the install I see T-taps which is an installer shortcut/no-no which means that they might not have installed the switch. Its been for ever but I think it came out of the alarm on a separate blue harness with 2 wires on it. Look at the empty harnesses and see if there is a blue 2 pin that is empty.

Programming should be easy if you have the button. push and hold the button, turn the key on and the alarm should flash the lights. Then push button one on the remote(while still holding the button) and the lights should flash and the alarm should beep to tell you its programmed. Release the button and your done.

any remote will have an fcc code on it. That is not what I am talking about. DEI - Directed Electronics Inc makes viper and stamps all the back of their remotes with DEI. If it is not stamped with the DEI brand the chance of it programming are pretty slim.

automate looks like a completely different brand from DEI

http://www.automatecarsecurity.com/

https://www.directed.com/

I have been out of the biz full time for a while but the remotes were not interchangable between brands. Even on the DEI Brand you will need to make sure to get the right remote for that alarm as they have made a few different versions that operate on different freqs on different spectrums/code rolling.

Like I said if it does not say DEI on the back then more then likely it will not work, but your welcome to try.
