viper remote start

I have a 97 gt when I bought it it has a viper 479vpx remote start and alarm it locks and unlocks the doors and the alarm works I can't use the remote start though any ideas what to check the key fob is blue with four buttons thanks

Manual or Auto? maybe never hooked up if a manual tranny.

if could be a number of things from the tach wire coming off or that it just needs to be progammed.

when you try to do it does it give you and special flashing sequence? Try starting the car and holding down the remote start button on the remote for 5-10 secs. If it works the parking lights should flash or give you some kind of alert to let you know that it was done. If nothing happens then look around and there should be some kind of button(normally just a small red button that is often hidden just out of site) and again start the car and try to progran

I have the 791xv viper, same transmitter.

You hit the yellow buttom 3 times and hold it the third time. Manual trans too
