vortech to buy or not to buy.

    heres the deal some guy who just bought a 91 5.0 got a 94-95 vortech supercharger.idk :dunno: which one (he told me but i forgot) the thing is its made for 10-12 psi of boost. he wants $1500.will my engine handle it?? the other thing is one of his friends has 99 gt with another vortech that has 8 psi.if i trade vortech for vortech i can get it for $1200.confusing??all these guys are from a mustang crew and i know the main guy pretty good.the guy with the gt just wants the blower so he can run more boost so hell give me $300 bucks if i buy the kit of the guy and ill get a blower with 8 psi.im going to get some money in june 9 so i might have enough to get ?? what do u guys think i should get?? or do?? :dunno:

    I say do it!!! All you have to do is change the pulley and install a power pipe for more :rockyou:

    as for if you motor can handle to boost..well that depends on alot of things.i ran 16 osi on a 302 with 184,000 miles for 2 years till it gave out..it ran 11.17's constant.so it all depends.but id buy the bigger one.you can always change pulleys and gfet up to 12-16 psi with the right pulley combo

    like Tat said, pulley it to where you want the power to be.

    The question of whether or not your motor can handle it will all depend on how much it has been abused and how much you plan to abuse it. If you don't drive it like you stole it all the time, you will be fine.

    Personally on a stock motor with average mileage I would run 10psi max...

    It's a good price. Your running this on a stock engine?? If so, I doubt the car will see 10-12 pounds of boots..to restricted. Once you do heads and intake...you will HAVE to do the fule system, at least bigger injectors and an fmu.
