I'm trying to figure out which 17x4.5 wheel would be the best fit for my drag set-up. I narrowed it down to two options:
71MP7045A17A - 17x4.5, 1.7" backspace, -27mm offset, med brake height
71MP7045A22A - 17x4.5, 2.2" backspace, -13.97mm offset, med brake height (American Muscle Sells as the wheel for 94-04)
I used a wheel offset calculator and thought the -27mm offset would fit nearly the same as factory wheels, while the -13.97 would put the wheel inward by approx 1/2 inch. Would it be better to have the wheel sit in a little further because the wheel is much narrower (ie; alignment purposes or stress on steering components)?
Can a wheel specialist please confirm for me? Both options have to be special ordered so I want to make sure I order the correct size!
