Started out the day with around 3/4” of ice in the windshield. Took about 45 minutes to thaw that crap out. This 2012 Silverado has less than 50k on it

You should try the insurance
I bet your agent loves you like christmas/vantines day cards and all :)

I cut an aluminum trim ring to go around the infinity mirror I am putting in the sub enclosure.

I also went through and calculated the dimensions for the box so I can get a little more than 4 cubic feet and not eat the entire trunk up. I remember thinking that I would never use trig in the real world(30 yrs ago) so it took a little bit of review as well as figuring out how to get my calculator from RAD to DEG and then it went easy :)

At that point I wondered if I would be able to get it through the trunk opening so I cut out some cardboard to match the bottom and one side to confirm that there was no way in hell its going to fit through in one piece. So my 2 piece design is now going to be a 3 piece design, after I redesign it, again but it looks like the snow will last through the week anyway. Glad O got the wood for it last week.

plugged my battery tender up to the mustang last Thursday. starting to warm up here a bit, finally back up to 30. Received 1 of my custom cams last week. just so happens there was another Joe getting cams for his 2v in Miss same time as mine and they mixed our cams up in shipping. I got one of his and he got one of mine. Its ALWAYS something......

Continued work on the rear seat delete. Spent $35 at Home Depot for a 4x8 sheet of 1/2 inch MDF board. Using cardboard to make templates, I got the wood cut out today. Got all my holes drilled and prepped. Next step is finding some matching automotive carpet to cover it with. Once that's done, just has to be mounted!

Do yal have any suggestions on where to get automotive carpet? Obviously automotive upholstery store, but I'm looking more for carpet that you see subwoofer boxes covered in. Would a fabric store have that kind of carpet? I don't need heavy duty grade carpet.

I hit the local upholstery shop when I need carpet. What you want to get is called unbacked carpet so it can stretch a little. Car audio shops might also sell you some but I am afraid to know what they might charge.

If you want to go that extra step to dress it up a little bit, cut out a design or words from cardboard and glue that down first, then glue the carpet on top of it and it makes it look one step better for not a whole lot more work an no more money.

Copy all! There is one in town. I'll run by tomorrow and see what they can do for me.

Thanks for the idea! I think I'll just keep it plain though. From pictures I've seen of DIY seat deletes, I really like the clean look of it being plain.

If you have a boneyard nearby, try a trunk liner. You can get 40" wide unbacked automotive carpet on eBay for $13 a linear yard. Speaker cabinet cloth - https://www.parts-express.com/Speak...XR6m1JI9qwUw0auvFlJ0EcxF4bEmG3tIaAk7CEALw_wcB

A week and a half ago we had snow.

Today, as it was 14 degrees or so and sunny, went out and put the convertible top down for the first time this year.

If it's like it again Sunday the XK8 will get the same...

Discovered water leaking from the block/cylinder head mating area between cylinders 2 & 3.

Totally fucked up and neglected to swap the water in the unicorn to 50/50 ahead of the freeze. Winterizing my home and the working a month straight completely preoccupied me and I paid for it.

As a result, I have cracked the engine block.

Did some more prep for the Corbeau seats. Got the harness bar and harnesses in the mail on Saturday. Got them mocked up. Waiting on automotive carpet to come in so I can cover the seat delete. Once that is done, I can install the seat delete, then install the harness bar and harnesses. Just waiting on the Corbeau seats to arrive...dang COVID has everything on backorder!!!

which seats did you get?

I have been making slow progress on my subwoofer enclosure while buying time till it warms up. Tomorrow its finally supposed to be near 50 so I will be back out on the trans swap again. Words out as I am waiting on parts now for the rest of the enclosure.
