I got the exhaust loosely installed and made a few welds to make a bracket for the center hanger. I need to weld the other part to the exhaust tomorrow and hopefully the driveshaft gets finished.

I found a magnaflow, not my 1st choice but half the price of a new borla. So i figure when i can't stand the mufflers i'll just swap in some Borlas.
I’m not a fan of magnaflows myself. They don’t have that signature mustang sound.

I haven't done anything for ages apart from drive her. She doesn't need stuff doing at the moment.

I guess that's a good thing really???

TMW

EDIT - why did I put "does need" when it should be "doesn't need"?!?!?!?!

No pictures but yesterday I removed the ugly knockoff bullitt shift knob and put on an oem leather knob. Also got my tuner from LMR, loaded up a new tune to account for the 30# injectors and 4.56s and it runs better. Warm idle is a little shaky but I’m going to datalog later to figure that one out.

After 3 and a half days I finally got the heads off. While working down the engine I noticed that some of the spark plugs had oil on them which worried me. The passenger side gasket looks fine, but I'll replace it anyway since I'm down here. The driver-side head gasket had a lot of gunk on it and is coming apart significantly.

Npi motors are known to have bad valve seals causing oil to seep into the cylinders and burn. Do you ever notice a cloud of bluish smoke when you stomp on it?

I got the exhaust installed today and for the first time in months I was actually able to clean the garage and under the car. I will have to move one of my o2 sensors just a hair but I think I will have a shop do that. All I am waiting on now is the driveshaft and then I can fill it and hopefully go for a drive(fingers crossed)

I got all the wiring under the car tied up and made sure the batteries were charged up in hopes of firing it up today. I was hoping I could find a plug to put in the o2 bung I need go move but its a strange M18 x 1.5 thread so I had to have it shipped in. I will have to wait to start it tomorrow, maybe the driveshaft will be done as well. I got the shifter installed and was able to finally able to bang through 6 gears(complete with sound effects of course)

If anyone wants that hurst emblem in the back let me know. I will have to make a magnum version now I guess.

Magnapacks or regular Magnaflows?
Just regular magnaflows. got them on over the weekend. has good sound wide open and at idle, but just not enough for me. But, i need to get the x pipe on and that will make a difference for sure. All the 2.5" tubing is stainless, so i bought it for that. Also nice that all the new kits are slip to fit and have clamps, so its easily taken apart for different mufflers. tails look good. one of my next projects is to restore that 3rd brake light. pretty faded now.

Bro, talk to me about the cutouts! I'm thinking about doing the same thing on my side exit Roush pipes. I have the same setup, except an H-pipe. How is the sound?
This was my first time opening them up and really getting on it. I love my loud button, instant attitude at the push of that button. I open the cut outs at the 12 sec mark right before you hear the clicking sound when I downshift.

I have another vid I can't seem to find that shows the set up a little better but in short the cut out is mounted between the exhaust tip and the intake to the muffler so when its open it bypasses the muffler but still uses the same tip.
