I have never really considered long tubes. Today I was happy to put a bung plug in the old o2 hole and be able to start it up. It was rough for a few minutes but smoothed out nicely. This is the first time I have heard it since I installed the high flow cats and I honestly was afraid they would make it quieter than it did but it really just smoothed everything out a little.

Just regular magnaflows. got them on over the weekend. has good sound wide open and at idle, but just not enough for me. But, i need to get the x pipe on and that will make a difference for sure. All the 2.5" tubing is stainless, so i bought it for that. Also nice that all the new kits are slip to fit and have clamps, so its easily taken apart for different mufflers. tails look good. one of my next projects is to restore that 3rd brake light. pretty faded now.
Yeah, the Magnapacks are way louder.

I started my day by calling my driveshaft shop to check on my driveshaft. When I dropped it off last week wed they said that they thought they could have it back to me by the weeekend. I called monday and they said they are having an issue with their spool gun and are behind. Today they said a nephew was sick and the aluminum welder is not even there yet and should be there in about an hour and he can call back and give an update. I told him I am not normally this impatient but that I just had 2 months of my time wasted by another place and because of that I am REALLY wanting to put the last 4 bolts in the driveshaft and call it done. Because of that I will be picking it up this afternoon no matter if its done or not

I said it before I am saying it again but this shit is getting old.

Tore into the dash today. There was so much wiring under the dash and hood, it looked like colored spaghetti everywhere! There were switches that went to nothing, wiring for an amp, microphone and an old alarm system. I think the box was removed a while ago but there was still a lot of wiring and a couple sensors. There was also an antenna behind the headliner. Also pulled the radio. It was pretty weak for an aftermarket system and it stood out too much I didn’t like it. Still trying to work on the clutch but that’s a fail so far. Also replaced the pedal covers because the rubber was coming off. Much to my surprise they are Ford bullitt covers. I’ll get another set one day. In the meantime I got dorman stock replacements.D3CBD757-280B-42C8-94CD-83E618DD88D8.jpeg800E4D6C-60BC-4C06-B4CE-FDEE003E60A4.jpeg4DBB2CA1-1474-4B98-B2A2-8BD492ADF1E9.jpeg8BA3BD45-D16B-424B-A7C3-E10313385883.jpeg97F4E742-BB6A-4B6E-A93F-A62A8687ECED.jpeg6EA8173D-1F06-4BB2-8937-108994EEC57C.jpeg

I called the other shop this afternoon to confirm if I dropped it off today that they could get it back to me this weekend and they said sure no problem. I loaded up around 4pm and went to the shop fully expecting to pick it up exactly how I left it but to my amazement he said it was in the balancer at that time and would be done in about 20 mins. He said he was sorry it had taken so long, I said I was sorry I was being an impatient asshole but I just wanted to take my car for a drive and he understood. I got the shaft, took it home and carefully slid it up into place AND IT FITS!!! At least I think it does. I need to get some hose to fill it and it might be time for a drive...

Nothing for a few days but Saturday will be washing and vac-ing ready for the Kent All Ford Show on Sunday.

Not much American action there but there's usually a couple of SN95s in addition to me - mainly old-school British stuff from the 60s through 80s. Makes sense as it's in England. Always good to see the old XR4i's and Capri's out though...

Will post pictures after the event if anything good appears.

What a pain in the ass. I swapped my oem console for an 01+ console. I thought it was plug and play but nope, I should have done my research. Anyway I moved the harness from the oem one to the new one, moved the foglight switch over and bolted it all back together. In pulling the e brake up as high as it goes I pulled the front hold down bolt and part of the floor out of the car. Now it sort of flops around so I’ll have to get someone to fix that… the previous owner adjusted it so it would be all the way tight at one click. I undid the bolt on the side and pulled up and out the bolt went. I’m still pissed but you live and you learn. Also took off the ugly billet e brake handle cover. Make an offer if you want it. And I put on a new drivers side door cup. I bought ebay specials and man I regret it. They fit like crap. They look nice but don’t curve with the door so they’re going back asap.

i feel the pain, nothing ever seems to go smoothly. But coming from the 00GT with that old console and now having the 03 console...so much better. Worth it.

I have a list of things i need to do on the car. Does that count? I need to swap the x pipe in, replace clutch cable and add the adjuster, quadrant etc., need to swap in the solid steering shaft i have, restore the 3rd brake light.....Maybe i'll get the x in tonight. I like driving the car to work on Fridays.

Yeah I like the 01+ console better. I missed it in my 02 so I just had to have it. But I tore part of the floor out so I don’t know if it was worth it lol. Any particular product to clean it? I’ve noticed on most sn95s the center console changes color compared to the dash. I was hoping a deep clean will help fix it. Mine isn’t bad but it isn’t the same shade of grey the dash is.

Waiting to get everything in order to get the engine back together. A local machine shop is asking for 125 per head to resurface+clean. Is this a good price or should I continue to shop around?

I only go with the first one I call if there is only one to call. Also ask about how fast they can turn it around and get it back to you if they had it this afternoon. Do NOT make the mistake of saying its no big rush or anything stupid like that.... Some shops are faster than others, some are cheaper, I would also ask your local car buddies if they like or do not like certain shops. They are not all the same.

Last night I vacuumed the new floormats I got from LMR and put those in. They look nice, and seem to be of decent quality. I really wanted to get the ones with the 5.0 on them, but then thought that would be silly when I stroke the motor. Walked past it on my way out to the truck for work this morning. Planning to give it a good detailing over the weekend since I got caught out in the rain in it one day this week.

Apparently spent all weekend making it go from running like shit to not running at all, wtf!. Is there something i could have done inadvertently while trying to set the timing, is there something that maybe someone wouldn't think to mention (because I was working on the car maybe everyone would just assume i knew) that i might have done or not done before cranking the engine, and stuff that may have made it where it won't start at all now, or am i going to have to go back through everything I've already replaced to see if something has fried again. Ahhh i hate i put all the gas in the jug in the tank now....., now i don't have anything to set the car on fire with
