no this engine i built and swapped it out of my 98 gt my 98 2 valve was getting tired anyways , so i had parts to do the swap
this is a 03 04 mach 1 engine

the one with a blower is the 97 cobra

the engines look the same but different head and intake set ups

What I'm currently installing on my 98 coupe drag car. The rear is from a 2003 GT. Has 35 spline axles, c clip eliminator and spool it's a strange system. Well with the only brake upgrade that will easily fit is an aerospace components kit, but now I have to redesign the lines to SAE. The factory fitting are metric. The rotor and caliper install was the easy part. Kit comes up with everything including caliper mounting brackets that fit the strange C clip eliminator blocks. This kit fits within a 15" wheel with about 1/4" clearance

It does seem a little noisy but doesn’t really sound concerning. Any idea where the noise is from? Lash adjusters?

Oil psi is good
Not overheating

Has that tell tale boat under water 4v exhaust note. Sounds good. Top end will probably smooth out

Ya first I created a vac leak
Forgot to install the dam pcv valve

The tick noise is a lot better than at first
I'm going to put a few miles on it this evening
Hopefully no wrecker or tow truck will be needed

The high idle was a vaccum leak due to no PCV?

Could be your lifters still have a little air in them... not fully
"pumped" up!

I do notice at low rpm 2 to 4 drive its not loud
One you give it the gas it a bit louder

So it's probably breaking in

Nothing has changed
Oil psi still good
Not over heated
Took it out on a brutal run
Took it to get beer in town 10 miles each way
And it still idle perfect without a skip

Crazy I will have to get used to this noisy bastard
