Just make sure you don't use the diff's fill plug to actually fill up the diff, lol. Use the fill plug that's on the driver's side front of the axle housing. Don't be the guy spraying diff fluid all over the road!

I had a diff go Kaboom once and sprayed that smelly shit all over a friend's 94 Cobra behind me

So you mean if i buy the Ford Racing alloy diff cover i should still use the original front drivers side plugg to fill it, not the one on the new cover?

Tons of potential here!
Just got it back from the alignment shop. They were able to get me to -1.5* Camber on the stock plates which isn't terrible. I have MM plates on hand just haven't had the time to put them on yet. But they look much better up front with an extra degree of Camber and the car is just so much more composed and stable with the beefy summer tires as apposed to the skinny all seasons that were on it.

Meh? What’s up with that?
I'm not 100% on the look. TBH those wheels looked much better off the car than on it. I also tried to chew up some fender gap with extra sidewall so I wouldn't have to slam it which also looks meh. I went 275/40/18 instead of 275/35/18. Going to leave the wheels and tires for now while I focus on the suspension. Once I have it lowered and get the Camber where I want it we'll see if they look the part or I want to go in another direction.

Yep, had a buddy do that and I stopped him before it hit the road. Too funny! :D

Put the final "bling" on the car today. Now, it's off to the track!

Installed my tcc solenoid, shift solenoids, trans filter, and ridged harness. Waiting for my accumulator piston now before I can button it back up.

Ha!

Is that the Tamiya one?

I did the same a couple of years ago - it's on here somewhere, although mines a vert and obviously that Tamiya kit isn't...

Yes, it's the Tamiya kit. I added a few upgrades as well.

Got the x pipe on the car. It had a slp loudmouth cat back on it when I bought it. Wasn’t a big fan of it with the stock h pipe. With the X it sings now. I’ll be driving it now just for the music. Modular motors just sound good with the right exhaust.

What did you add?

Mine is actually the Escort Cosworth chassis that I disabled the 4-wheel drive in, then added a Sport Tuned motor and changed the main driving cog to give it a bit more go go.

I added bearings to replace the plastic "bearings", aluminum adjustable upper control arms for the front and rear, aluminum motor mount, aluminum driveshaft, and aluminum solid spool for the rear axle.

Next up is a brushless motor and upgraded ESC. My original ESC overheats with the LiPo batteries I use.

How's the Sport Tuned motor? Mine came with the Torque Tuned.

Nice

Sport tuned supposedly gives more speed. Torque tuned is for endurance, sport tuned for performance. I would suspect the TT one is for 4-wheel drive and off-road types and the ST one is for road-going cars.

The Tamiya figures do show better speed from the ST but I think it does make a battery hit as a result.

But I've had that Sport Tuned one for about 15 years or more and it's still going strong.

That's good to know, I was curious what the differences were. If there were more R/C guys, I'd say we should start an R/C thread.

Would need some help. Want to change differential oil and while there thought of putting in aluminium cover with fill & drain plugs. Rock auto has reasonable shipping to Sweden and found this for a good price on their site:
View attachment 20225
Problem is that it is not stated that it is for 8.8 in diff and cannot find anywhere to check if the OEM part numbers match. Nowhere on their site i can find link to customer service to ask them? So please, do not want to order wrong parts over the pond!
I've bought 2 of these and they do work on the standard 8.8 just have to make sure you get longer bolts because that thing is thicker around the edge. i can send you the info on the bolts i've used also.

I like these, i think the deep dish bullitt style wheels would look good on that yellow car also.
Part of the reason I got these is because my Bullitts wouldn't clear the Baer Calipers. Hindsight 20/20 I probably would've gone with a less beefy brake setup so I'd have more wheel options.
