Does yesterday count? I was too tired to post when I finished. Took the tired, stained interior out of my GT. It was disgusting. Just so y’all know, this isn’t how I roll…. I bought the car on Christmas Eve of 2024, drove it about 200 miles home and then drove it a week later the 90 mile round trip to work and back so I could replace the tie rod ends to make it safe. Went on and did inners and outers even though just the outers were bad.

So I pulled everything from the interior all the way down to the metal and cleaned it up. Installed the dynomat floor kit that I got from LMR, I always dynomat my cars but this is the first time I bought the pre-cut kit for anything. It was very easy to deal with.

That’s all I have driven the car, the driver’s seat foam is wonky and I am going to replace the fronts with some Corbeaus. I had the LG1 wides in my ‘97 and loved them but they were the microsuede ones. I was concerned with the edges fraying or tearing. This time I think I will do the cloth/vinyl as it appears that the vinyl is on the edges of the seat and will be more durable. I would do the straight leather but they don’t offer that in the wides. Saving my $$ for that right now. I have a $200 per week Mustang budget and this one I’m paying for everything as I go, nothing goes on a credit card! Lol

More dashboard tinkering.

Rigged up a Meter Match box to get balls on accurate oil pressure readings from a stock gauge. Deutsch connectors, snake skin sleeving/heatshrink, professional harness routing, etc., etc. Even rigged up a quick-connected re-calibration adapter. I've been waiting to do this for the better part of 2 years now. Finally time to get accurate readings.

The black 00 gt has a parasitic draw that I originally thought was a bad diode in the alternator, I found the culprit today. While going through the test I noticed someone replaced the ecu fuse with a 100 amp fuse and when I unplugged it the amp draw went to 0. I looked under the drivers side of the dash because I remembered a few wires hanging down so I pulled the trim panel under the steering wheel. This is what I found

Someone jammed the power wire into fuse #2 in the interior fuse box which is hot at all times. It’s a gps tracker of some sort.

Had to weld some steel bracing to the dash since one of the two cross connects had to be cut out in preparation for the big double din install coming later.

While the dash is out of the car, I found a nice cozy spot for the fuse/relay boxes I made. It was fun making them from scratch.
