Nothing special for me, changed the oil/filter on my '14 Tacoma and decided to replace the belt after 11yrs and 85k miles. Still going strong, now I have a backup. ;)

I thought so. Seems like there really only three outfits that do SN95 interior CF parts these days. Looks like they got the switch fitment literally perfect.

I was really hesitant about ordering the carbon pulls as you know they are not cheap by any means and I was worried about the fitment being off, but as you can see they nailed it. I'm going to order the handle cups to complete the look. So I finished up the panels and put in some new trunk support rods. Nothing major.

I'd be worried about them getting scratches from rings and other things.

They do look awesome.

In preparation for the K member swap, took the front brakes, spindles, springs, struts, sway bar and struts mounts off/out. Installed the MM CC plates and then one of my dogs decided two chew on one of the new sway bar bushings. I hope those little teeth marks hold lube and not mess it up, lol.
I'm having to drop the factory k member with arms and rack as the steering rack bolts are bent upwards. It's been a good time so far.

Not

NOT the Code Brown I'm familiar with.... o_O
Funny enough, when I worked as a detention officer for the department of juvenile justice we used color codes along with 10 codes. Code blue was a disturbance, code white was medical, code green was a escape attempt, code red was a fire and code brown was weather lol.

That gave me an idea to get mine PPF'd. Although, they are not naked carbon and have some clearcoat on them, so they could be lightly wetsanded or even just polished with Gel Gloss from time to time.

Maybe even ceramic them if they have a clear coat.

I think if you're looking for a one & done, PPF is the only way to go. I had it done to every square inch of my murdercycle and it's amazing. Paint stays protected forever, and when you hit it with some ceramic or graphene spray, it pops. Best part is when the bugs and road grime start accumulating, you just knock it all off with a pressure washer and then spray the drying microfiber with some more spray and it's done. No more 'detailing'. If it's a heavy build up, it only takes light strokes with an ordinary sponge.

On these door cups or whatever else CF in the interior, probably only need a spray once a year as long as the PPF is on it.

Holy hell I miss my old single din installation days when life was simple. There is no way in heck I would go back to it as a job now with the way cars are made. I counted 14 harnesses/antennas/plugs on the back of the big screen/deck/infotainment crap and of course no room to see behind it. As I pulled the car out tonight I had to laugh when I noticed I need to clean my windshield now as my forehead left some spots next to the mirror where I was trying to see behind it. Of course with all that wiring there wasn't a whole lot or room to rout the wiring I need and then get the deck back in as I had to rearrange it to fit back together. BUT FINALLY it is playing, it is much louder and has some bass. I can't say the SQ is as good as I have done previously but I also only spent a fraction of what a sq system can cost.... Now I will need to take the drivers door apart and see what is rattling so badly behind the panel and add some sound damping to some parts of the seat that are rattling.

I finished installing the 2nd under seat subwoofer today. I had the wiring ran inside so I just had to pull the seat out, mount it, wire it and tune it. My conclusion is that sitting on top of a subwoofer is about the worst place you can put the sub and I bet these would sound 2x as good in the back. If you are not aware the wavelength of a 30 hz signal(bass) is almost 30 ft long from beginning to end and that is why it often sounds better for the subs to face backwards in a car. BUT it does sound 10x better than stock and now the only problem I have is to fix what is rattling in the drivers door. I have some foam on the way tuesday to fix this and hopefully after that it will be done.

Today I took the drivers door apart and fixed its rattle. Some second skin sound damping around the speaker location.

then I put some strips/squares here/there to help with resonance/rattles

Finally some 1/2" closed cell foam on the back of the door panel will help to block road noise as well as prevent the plastic vapor barior from making noise and keep the door panel nice and tight/quiet.

I was finally able to turn it up with out the rattling and because of that I gave the sub amps a small bump as well. I am really surprised how much of a difference $800 made with out any loss of cargo room. It isn't a ground pounding monster but it really does have good imaging and blends well with the subs up front and the 6x9s in the doors. I am really surprised how much better the 6x9s sound with the pioneer amp bridged to 90 watts x 2.

A very productive night with only a slight step backwards. Removed the K member, oil pan, oil filter adapter housing, engine mounts, control arms and steering rack. Installed less dented oil pan, clean oil filter adapter, engine mounts and QA1 K member. Found a single chunk of timing chain guide in the oil pan, nothing in pick up tube. So I'll have to pull the cover and do chains and guides later. The driver's rear mount is bent slightly upward so I'll have to use the four post lift at work to pull it down. 7 of the 8 bolts in the k member. Will finish installing the reman rack, control arms and coil overs hopefully this week and maybe get it drivable. Then to decide on what to do with the paint.IMG_20250325_191425921_HDR.jpgIMG_20250325_205035867.jpg
