Pulled the steering wheel off and began reassembling everything onto the new-to-me reman steering column. Hope I get the sequence right; don’t want to have to disassemble to any degree because this had to go in before that! Took some pics… should help (fingers crossed)

Made good progress on reassembling the steering column today…. Until I got to the horn switches, that is! I seem to be missing 2 springs and 1 tiny little washer. Looked everywhere 47 times and nowhere to be found :-(

So, found a replacement set on eBay Motors. Be here in 5-7 days. Bit of a hiccup but after this long it’s not much more to ask. At least I feel (or got to feel briefly) that the hard part’s over and I’m in the home stretch.

You always find things the last place you look. ;)
True! Well, mostly anyway. I found one of the 2 springs I lost and the tiny washer. Still missing one spring, but Murphy’s Law almost reared its familiar head. I’m sure I’ll find the other spring now that I’ve ordered parts to replace them!

Pulled the trigger and swapped engines!
Got the 331 installed and it runs great. Gonna schedule some dyno time soon to see if this intake makes more power than the Edelbrock RPM2 (box stock) that I had previously on this engine in my other car.

I’m day 3? 4? Of road tripping the ole Poncho, made it to the North Carolina coast today. Here’s a pic from Sunday, thrashing the car on the Tail of the Dragon lolView attachment 47240
Little more info about the car…If you please! And maybe a handful of pictures inside & out?? Fond memories of yesteryears land yachts with that classic rear end squat! :)

A few weeks back I won a $100 gift card to Hanlon Motorsports, used that to get a Stiffler’s driveshaft safety loop. Install was easy since I already had their crossmember too.

Really been thinking a lot lately about getting a TKX after discussing it with them. The lil T5 has been hanging in there but I’m afraid to beat on it too hard and get left stranded lol.
