Well, I didn’t do it (the mechanic did), but I FINALLY got my A/C fixed! Got a referral from another local mechanic (alignment specialist) and our schedules finally collided. I was pretty nervous about it because you never know if it’s going to be a total rebuild or refurbishing... or a relatively quick/easy fix. I was anticipating leaving the car there for 3-4 days, but 2 hours later he called me back and it was fixed! Turns out the system had no refrigerant and a leaky inlet valve. Both are remedied and the system blows nice and cold!
98 degree heat with no A/C in a black/black car isn’t much fun! But no more...I’m cruising cool & comfy!

Wasn’t concerned with dissecting the selector issue and “why the ‘mix’ feature won’t work”, but that’s a whole other undertaking probably involving 6-8 hours of dash disassembly/reassembly to rectify. So not worth it to me. The “vent” and “floor” selectors work fine and that’s good enough for me.
if its only coming out of the defroster its an easy fix. There is a vac line broken under the hood on the passenger side.

Already fixed that a while back. The only function that doesn’t work is the “mix”.
All the rest (floor, vent, defrost, etc) work.

Probably just one of the blend door actuators. Not sure if they can be replaced with the dash in place.

I replaced the BBK catless headpipes and obnoxiously loud SLP cat-back system that was on my car when I got it with a Pypes headpipe setup with cats and an SR Performance cat-back system. Found them on Craigslist. Not a terrible job since the old stuff was only put on 2 years ago. Had to drop the axle a bit but no big deal.
Much quieter. Now I can hear myself think while driving and hold a conversation without yelling.
Cleared the codes(1 for no cats and 1 saying right bank lean) and put 90 miles on her. All good.

I felt like I was in office space all week babbling about the tps but they finally got the harness in today. I got it soldered on and was surprised that the new harness only snapped on slightly better and was disappointed to see that the tps would still not program. So I took the tps out to discover it was laughing at me.

So pushed the rubber back into place and then put it all back together and it would still didn't feel like a snug fit with the harness and the tps would still not program. I actually had my old tps that I had problems with it drifting when the motor was hot but I tried it out and the harness slid in securely and it actually programmed. Unfortunately it still starts to drift when the motor is hot so I will have to get another one of those I guess.

I heard that joke a couple of times the past 8 days waiting on the damn thing but I still think its funny. I got the new one today and it plugged in, mounted and programmed as normal for a change. If it still would not program the neighbors would have been worried. Now I am just trying to get all the air out of the coolant system now and waiting for it to cool down to take the zero spill funnel off and put the cap back on.

I ACTUALLY PUT THE WHEELS ON THE GROUND AND DROVE THE MOFO! I am so happy that there were no vibrations, strange noises or problems to report short of I could not find reverse with out looking at the knob.

Today I discovered autozone sucks. I needed some stuff and I wasn't going to be able to get to it for a couple of days and they sent me a coupon for %10 off and free overnight shipping so I put the order in thurs and they said it would be here saturday which was perfect as I could install it sunday. I got home saturday from the gt500 thing and completely forgot it was supposed to arrive. Sunday afternoon I realize its not here and when I do a search for the order # it acts like it has never seen it and their phones are off on sunday. Today I call and the chic acts like she can't find it either till she puts me on hold for nearly 10 mins and comes back to say the shipment was rerouted Saturday(the day the guaranteed it would arrive) and that they hoped to get the part in stock tomorrow. I cancelled the order and hopefully napa will have it on thurs.

Not today but the other day I adjusted the driver side window because it was hitting on the a-Pilar. I also adjusted the door striker. Now the door closes like on a new car!!
Today I got a oem style key fob and programmed it. Now I have keyless entry .

I was seriously amazed how many times I had to turn mine on/off to get the air out. I had to let it run for 10-15 mins and then turn it off and let it cool down for 10 mins and do it again. In the end I think I did it 4 times.
