How do you like the Skars? I’ve been seriously thinking about those.
First impression is great. Like em alot. The extra tabs that point down need to be either bent up or cut off so I could get the panel back on. I'm thinking I'll have to tune it down a bit once I have the amp in place. I buy things as funds come available.

These are my first pair of full range speakers. I had a 8" sub and amp in a Audi A4 the wife had. Sorta wish I'd pulled the amp out of the before we traded it in.
I have a 10" sub and a 4ch amp, both from Skar to go in the Mustang next. Just need to make the box for the sub. I have ideas in my head, but need to save up the funds to buy supplies.

This was after I put the sub in the A4. Replaced the blown OEM sub.

tucked the amp inside the quarter panel in the trunk. Dumb idea in a car with a trunk. The amp would get hot and take a nap in the summer. Not enough ventilation.

One side note...
If anyone has had to reglue the rear view mirror button to the windshield and did so successfully, I'd appreciate knowing what you used. I had a Loctite adhesive supposedly FOR this purpose, but it doesn't hold reliably.

Admittedly, I'm trying to hang a dashcam mirror/monitor off it, but the OEM was already laying on the floor when I got the car.

Tried loctite brand and the mirror just fell off a day later. So, tried it AGAIN but taped the stupid thing down with painters tape for a few days. Been there for a few years now.

I used Loctite to put the mirror back up after I got the car. When I was hanging the new mirror/cam up, it came off. I got another one of the Loctite adhesive packs and put the button up. I let it be for three days. It immediately fell off then I tried to hang the mirror on it this time.

I’ve had good luck with the permitex brand mirror adhesive. You have to clean the windshield really well and clean all the old adhesive off the button or else it won’t stick.

Finished brainstorming the signal flow diagram for the sequential LED front lamps/side markers. Pen to paper, then text to file, now it's all done. Just gotta get hands dirty and build it all out. Full Screen mode has best view.

I always wanted to install an interior power delay like newer cars have. I mean where you take the key out of the ignition, and the interior power and radio stay on until the door is opened.
Is that even possible, is that something up your alley?

I’d suspect a time delay relay would suffice.

Pulled the plugs out and reset the gaps to .040” since they were at .050” and the bitch was running weird.

Same... sometimes I'm just not quite done listening to that Katy perry when I pull in the garage!

Yes, time delay relay like he said. They're actually very easy to install and configure. I'll be doing one for exterior lights as well as sound system hopefully this summer after I get a bunch of other car projects complete. There's a storefront on youtube called timers.shop with excellent videos and products, some of which I've already bought and am just waiting on the time to get them in the car. What's more is that they make stuff specifically for 12v automotive applications with bluetooth apps on the device! I found they made a really slick setup for exhaust cutouts that does one-touch operation to give the pivot blades partial or full movement. Check em out.

Thought it time to get back to work on some projects. Changed oil in the Coyote today and...yep, ran into a small snag. It seems my new Eibach bar is too big (diameter) and makes it very difficult to remove the oil filter. Well, after some head scratching (no banging) I just loosened both bushings a bit and that gave me just enough room to remove and replace the filter. So, now I have choices...either do this everytime or install a remote setup. At least it was off center of the bar and just needed to lower the bar about 1/2".

Just buy a shorter filter

Pulled the console off and removed the ashtray with
i) Dremel tool (tended to melt and re-fuse the plastic as I was cutting)
ii) Electric jigsaw
iii) Dollar store mini hacksaw blade with pistol handle

Lots of cutting and finessing to get a 1999+ cup holder to fit in. But in the end I got her without making the hole too big. Nobody likes a loose hole right?

Added a shiny new vapor/fluid catch can for the top vent of the IRS differential housing. Needed in my case because I plan to do 150mph+ hour-long thrash sessions on the autobahn!
