my 96 GT 5 speed has 4.10 gears installed. never been to the track yet. trying to figure out the optimum diameter for track use for 15" rim. I don't want to be redlining at the end of the track since my car makes no useful power after 5500 rpm. any advice? 26" or 28"? 28's look badass but id rather get what I need for lowest ET possible. thanks guys!

26x10.00-15 would work fine you'll be in the top of 4th like you said make sure to shift around 5300-not over 5500 this will net the fastest et's with slicks and your short list I could bang off 13.70's for sure . Duffy will say 26 x8.5 but that's just a gay look

my old set up was a t45, 373 gear with a 26x8.5x15 tire. I'd hit 6200 @ the 1000 mark so a 4.10 on a 26" is good.

duff daddy too, cause he's a racing pro.

only on the keyboard ....

If you don't make much power a 8.5 is cheap, light, and you won't blow them off or spin them if prepped and heated....

26"... I ran 28" on my cobra launching at 6-6500 and it would bog a little bit

what would the difference be from a 26 to a 28 rpm wise and as far as launching? my buddy has a pair of 28/10.5/15 that he would give me a good deal on but im not sure how they will affect me negatively.

28" tire and hooking is better then being on a street tire. I also went with 28" tires because of the deal. There is only a few hundred rpm different. On the 28" hoosiers I snatched 4th around the 1000ft mark. But I was also shifting at 7-7200.
